Permission and Applications
When beginning a project we consider whether the development will need to have planning permission, building regulations approval or both. These are two separate applications and if required we apply for each individually.
Building regulations are the minimum standard for design, construction and alterations to virtually every building. The regulations are developed by the UK government and approved by parliament. At Kindred Elite we apply for building regulations approval via our in-house approved inspectors.
Most new buildings, major changes to existing buildings or to the local environment need consent – known as planning permission. Your local planning authority is responsible for deciding whether a development such as an extension on a house or a new build should go ahead. At Kindred Elite we submit a detailed location plan, site plan and design statement (design principles, concepts and architect drawings) to your local authority to ensure planning permission is granted.
